The Basecamp adaptive audio scores are composed pieces of music and ambient sounds made specifically for use in real life games. In video games, the use of adaptive music has already been widely accepted as standard. However, within the real life gaming scene, specifically within Escape Rooms fixed/static soundtracks are more common. Basecamp Games has always had a large interest in the way music and sound can create atmosphere and meaningful story. But combine a static soundtrack with free choice by players and this becomes very difficult. That is why we are bringing video game style adaptive audio to real life gaming with our product and service; BAAS. BAAS consist of two parts which work together to create a gameplay-matching sound experience for players of a real life game. The first part is creating a custom adaptive musical piece for a specific game by our in-house composers. The second part is using sensory and triggered event data from within the game to mix the composition in real-time. Players will feel the music swell up in moments of tension, and are rewarded with a mellow song in moments of rest. All to improve the feeling of immersion within the game world.
