How can students contribute to the production of material for lectures and meanwhile increase their knowledge about the subject(s)?
AND / MEANWHILE
Which design ‘techniques’ are of importance for persuasive media design? (the subject of their research)
During their minor Digital Experience Design 22 students with multidisciplinary backgrounds (both culture as educational) were involved in a research on which design ‘techniques’ play an important role in the persuasive design of digital media. The question "“How can [one of the six aptitudes by Daniel Pink] contribute the persuasive design of media?” led them to an individually written essay. Students with the same chosen aptitude combined their results into a lecture for the rest of the class resulting in co-created lectures guided by the researchers. The end-result of this research is a great deal of (new) insights on how specific aptitudes can contribute to the persuasive design of media. This knowledge is represented in a matrix both portraying the theoretical framework by B.J. Fogg (persuasive design), as well as the six aptitudes by Daniel Pink.
