Now that more and more organizations are using robots for all kinds of activities and robots are increasingly being regarded as co-bots, close encounters between humans and robots are becoming more common. When people and robots work together, it is important that they understand each other. Robots must therefore learn to anticipate what is going on in the immediate vicinity, and express their intentions, so that the employee can never be in an unsafe situation. On the other hand, employees must learn to understand how robots work and what they can expect from them. There must be "co-operative communication".
In this presentation, I will explore what makes human robot-interaction natural, intuitive, safe and effective, from the human perspective.
