Ray Kurzweil predicts the singularity in 2040: according to him, computers will outsmart human brains then. Kevin Kelly gives us a much more subtle perspective. Intelligence has many faces, and computers will not compete with human brains; we will cooperate. The main issue is how we will shape this cooperation. Mark de Graaf is professor Interaction Design at Fontys University of Applied Sciences, departmetn ICT. Educated as researcher in Physics, he moved from aerospatial research to university education innovation. From there on he became co-founder of the department of Industrial Design, that offered a unique learning environment to students, strongly foucsed on the individual talents and motivation. In this period, his research became oriented towards the relation between human beings and highly technological environments. At Fontys, he leads the research group Interaction Design that focuses on redefining the relation between Homo Sapiens, emerged from evolution and the complex world of today.
