True to our name, we at Greenhouse Group love a salad for lunch. Juicy tomatoes, beautiful salad greens, crispy cucumbers. Yep, salads are serious business at Greenhouse Group. That’s why we started to grow our own vegetables, with the help of the Farmbot.
The Farmbot was originally designed - being a Kickstarter project - to fully automate (indoor) gardening, but what’s the fun in fully automating something? That’s why we at Greenhouse Group Labs redesigned the process of farming and added a level of interaction with the Farmbot.
By giving instructions to a AI chatbot (named Farmbot Freddy), every employee can plant a seed and take care of it. After starting a conversation with Freddy, he will ask you which seed you want to plant (e.g. mint, radish and basil) and by giving him orders he will give water or even take a picture of your plant. Thousands of lines of code make sure that everything goes according to plan, the right intention is executed, and that the system remembers which user belongs to which plant.
