One of our customers is a company providing tablet education to primary schools in the Netherlands and abroad. Their solution is technology driven and offers an adaptive learning platform to maximize the learning progress of each individual pupil.
In this presentation I will talk about machine learning algorithms in the context of adaptive learning. These algorithms leverage the collected data (exercises made by pupils) to further improve adaptive learning. As such, these algorithms materially contribute to the realized learning progress of each pupil during primary school.
After an introduction to this case, I will zoom in on the technical side and also give you some insight in the development of real-life machine learning applications like this.
I am currently working for Sioux LIME in the role of Technology Manager Data Science and Machine Learning. Sioux LIME is a company, based in Eindhoven, that applies mathematics as a technology to a broad range of companies and organizations. My educational background is a Master Applied Mathematics from Technical University of Eindhoven and a Master Econometrics from Tilburg University. I have over 15 years of experience in successfully applying mathematics such as machine learning and optimization to real-life problems in a variety of domains.
